Job Description
Kalamazoo Parks & Recreation is seeking energetic, passionate, and responsible candidates for our Youth Development Advocate positions at Kik Pool.
Candidates should enjoy working with youth, being in and around water, and have the ability to work afternoons, evenings and weekends. This is seasonal/temporary employment.

- Plan, develop, implement, supervise, and participate in programs and events at the Kik Pool during open swim hours
- Provide positive mentorship to youth at Kik Pool
- Engage with patrons, staff and volunteers to build healthy and positive relationships
- Assist with other youth programs within the department, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Energetic, creative, motivated, and organized
- Comfortable to work and communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong communication and socialization skills
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull equipment for set-up and tear-down
- Must be flexible with scheduling as position involves weekend and evening hours
- Must be comfortable working within an aquatic setting
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have experience working with youth
- Must be comfortable working in an aquatic setting
- Must have experience planning activities for youth
