Behavior Technician Trainees implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs with CARD patients and families under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor. Treatment plans are designed to address skill acquisition as well as challenging behavior reduction and may occur in a variety of settings including the CARD center, patient’s home, school, community, or via telehealth. This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Availability at least 15 hours per week (Weekdays Mon-Fri between 8:00 am-8:00 pm and weekends if needed).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:The CARD Behavior Technician will be trained to work with children and teens with exceptional needs and their families/caregivers. Acquire valuable career skills, such as:
  • Understand autism and how to treat the deficits and behaviors associated with the diagnosis.
  • Learn applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and procedures.
  • Implement treatment plans across multiple domains, including language, social, cognitive, executive functions, adaptive, and independent living, as well as pre-employment and vocational skills.
  • How to implement ABA programs in the natural environment, such as the home, school, place of employment, and community.
  • Work with applications, games, and web-based technology via an iPad.
