The Before School Youth Leader provides childcare to school-age children in a licensed childcare environment. This job is located at the Main YMCA at 1608 N. Washington St in Bismarck.

• Be a role model
• Assist children with breakfast and clean up
• Help to connect children with YMCA transportation for prompt arrival at school
• Help to facilitate fun and educational activities
• Assure that children engage in constructive playtime and learning
• Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures
• Use appropriate disciplinary methods
• Observe children and communicate appropriately with parents
• Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings

Part Time, Monday-Friday, 6:30 am-8:00 am
After School Shift Also Available Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm-6:00 pm
We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Previous experience working in a childcare setting or direct care service program or facility preferred, but not required. Must have the ability to handle competing demands, take direction and facilitate lesson plans. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc. The ability to work a dedicated schedule Monday through Friday for the duration of the school year preferred. CPR and First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire date required.
