Position Overview

Operate loader to ensure proper supply of materials to the batch plant, trucks, and other assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Ensure necessary supply of materials for batch plant is available.
  • Load trucks with proper materials for delivery.
  • Fuel, oil, grease and check other necessary loader parts to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of yard and batch plant premises.
  • Ecology block maintenance.
  • Perform general maintenance on the batch plant as directed.
  • Shovel gravel, repair equipment as needed / assigned.
  • Perform all other general duties as assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Previous construction related experience highly preferred.


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical screen and controlled substance testing.
  • Use of machines, tools, equipment; mechanic’s hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment, lubricating tools, hoists, cranes, man lift, measuring and testing equipment, computers, laser alignment tools, blue prints, service truck.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
