Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

*
Assists customers in yard area.

  • Operates, loads and unloads heavy and industrial equipment from trucks.
  • Directs transport drivers where and when to load and unload equipment.
  • Reviews bill of ladings for accuracy.
  • Completes manufacturer and Wyoming Machinery Company shipping documents.
  • Maintains accurate record of inventory.
  • Coordinates machine deliveries and receipt with the Wyoming Machinery sales group and customers.
  • Uses a digital camera and/or Apple IPad to record condition of returned equipment; documents damage on equipment and incoming loads; accurately measures and records tire tread, tire condition and air pressure, machine condition and undercarriage measurements.
  • Operates and inspects equipment for deficiencies in operation.
  • Documents damages on equipment loads.
  • Checks oil levels, antifreeze levels and condition, services fluids as needed.
  • Jump-starts equipment.
  • Operates a forklift to move equipment and accessories.
  • Rigs loads for movement by crane or forklift.
  • Operates, demonstrates and evaluates equipment for condition or and recommends required repairs.
  • Warranty and shipping paperwork.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Uses equipment to grade and maintain equipment yard.
  • Plows snow and removes debris in yard and parking lots.
  • Ensures yard is safe and free of debris and tripping hazards.
  • Maintains/controls weeds and vegetation on property.
  • Identifies and store’s inventory in the yard.
  • May use a high pressure washer/steam cleaner to clean equipment in wash bay.
  • Takes oil samples from machine components.
  • Installs decals, MMT stickers, and unit numbers on equipment; installs temporary license tags on truck trailers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally travel to other store locations to help cover yards as needed

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical background and/or training preferred.
  • Valid drivers’ license required.
  • Previous experience operating industrial equipment preferred.
  • Experience processing and handling shipping documents and bills of lading preferred.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS*

Walking/and or standing for up to 8 hours on concrete or other hard surfaces; walking over rough and uneven terrain.

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
  • Frequent use of ladders and steps for accessing equipment.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Frequent Use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and writing and typing.
  • Frequent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to substances, including grease, oil and dirt.
  • Overtime and varying schedules may be required.
  • Use of track measuring equipment; tire gauge and tread gauge; oil sample kits; hand tools.
  • Some travel by automobile required, with occasional overnight stay.
  • Operate a company vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license (driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually).
