Shift: Shift 1
Summary:
To facilitate and assist wound care nurses during examination of wound healing patients and contribute to their care by preparing examination rooms and patients, administering immunizations, performing limited procedures, scheduling tests, and assisting providers during examinations. Under the direction of the Wound Healing providers, may perform simple dressing changes, measure wounds and perform photographic documentation. May perform facility and/or unit specific audits and data collection. Facilitates and coordinates communication with nursing staff, physicians, other departments and patients and families related to patient care. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Two years of direct patient care obtaining knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job is required. Previous experience in an outpatient health care setting is preferred. Two years of CNA experience in direct inpatient care or overall wound care experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Current State of Wisconsin Certification as a Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
