Providence is calling a Weight Loss Program Instructor - Weight Loss Services Clinic (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Weight Loss Program Instructor - Weight Loss Services that will

deliver the HMR program for Weight Management by providing intensive behavioral lifestyle health coaching. The Instructor will represent and promote the program to staff, patients, and community.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Coach patients on lifestyle health changes in groups or individually
  • Conduct timely and consistent communications with prospective and enrolled patients, including follow-up
  • Conduct program orientations to present overview of program(s) to prospective patients
  • Maintain and provide regular updates to local clinic leadership and System office on patient health metrics, program data, and local impacts
  • Promote quality patient care to prospective program participants, patients, and staff
  • Communicate regularly with the staff to promote a consistent, integrated and effective program
  • Participate in strategy reviews of clinic to improve patient interactions and health outcomes
  • Attend meetings to discuss administrative and patient care issues
  • Provide updates on patient care on a weekly basis to clinic team
  • Present program at community functions

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- GED -OR- equivalent education/experience
  • Associate's Degree in Wellness, Health related area -OR- equivalent education/experience
  • Health Educator certification or attain within one (1) year
  • Ability to analyze information gathered by investigation, and report findings and recommendations
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills, and the ability to effectively build relationships with customers
  • Public Speaking

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Two (2) years experience with training or coaching adults in wellness or diet and nutrition related topics
  • Healthcare experience
