Web Developer

The Web Developer is responsible for coding, testing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining Forward Health Group’s web-based applications. Their primary focus is on designing new data visualizations that enhance our existing software platforms which support our clients (commercial platforms) and our staff (internal tools).

The Web Developer participates in the requirements gathering process, leads the product prototyping, writes the code, gathers feedback from the field, and tests out of build before pushing code to QA. They must work efficiently on simultaneous coding efforts as there will be an ongoing cascade of development initiatives. Collaboration skills are essential—we work as a team.

Visualization: Transforms user stories into appropriate user screens and business logic; understands the importance of data visualization and has experience designing workflows.

Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems promptly; seeks assistance when needed; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem-solving situations.

Technical Skills: Strong web coding skills required; strives to build knowledge and skills continuously; enjoys teaching others new skills.

Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation.

Language Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and all organization levels; fluency in English is required.

Math Skills: Intermediate math skills are necessary, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 1 – 5 years of professional experience in developing web applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate level of mathematical skills at a minimum
• Experience with PHP, JQuery, MySQL, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience with any of the top 5 PHP Frameworks, (e.g., Symfony)
• Experience with tuning applications that deal with large data sets is highly desired
• Some knowledge of and experience with development frameworks
