Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will oversee inbound or outbound operations of a 24/7, 770,000 sq. ft. facility by ensuring area processes are within adherence to SOPs, and manages process outputs of safety, quality, and performance. This includes, order-fill, replenishment, shipping and receiving, and daily operations in a manner geared towards operational excellence.
MANAGE INVENTORY, SHIPPING AND RECEIVING, AND WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

Monitor receiving and shipping procedures to ensure that products are unloaded, received, put away, selected, and loaded in the most efficient manner

Work with Transportation to maximize flow of receiving and shipping processes

Work with Inventory Control and Operations Systems to ensure that all product integrity is maintained and is stored and rotated to standard

Work with Inventory Control to minimize warehouse shrink (product loss)

Oversee appearance, maintenance, and security of warehouse and equipment
BE A CHAMPION FOR SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

Observe, model, and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries

Support the safety effort by working with the safety department to resolve safety concerns

Ensure warehouse computers and RF (radio frequency) equipment is used to standard

Ensure compliance with all applicable state/federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), HACCP, AIB)
LEAD, MENTOR, AND DEVELOP A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAM

Promote procedures (Preferred Work Methods and Best Business Practices) to ensure employees are trained in safety, job knowledge, and meet performance standards

Plan schedules to cover vacation, holidays, and other shift fill-ins, and coordinate employees needed to accomplish all warehousing activities

Monitor workflow and balance employees between all work areas to ensure smooth operations, and monitor productivity and volume through the use of the labor management system

Monitor employees' work (labor management) and conduct performance reviews on an ongoing basis to coach your team on expectations, reward above average performance, and for their development

Ensure that all required employee reviews are submitted

Reduce overtime by using the Daily Planning Tool spreadsheet

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertisethat matter most for this role:
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or inventory operations
  • Experience with complex warehouse management systems (SAP preferred, JDA, Manhattan, Red Prairie)
  • Experience with mathematical and logistic operations
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Experience building and communicating presentations in both 1:1 and group settings
  • An understanding of computer ordering systems and other IT systems
  • Highschool Diploma or GED preferred; Associate degree a plus
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
