Job Description

In a WArehouse Helper Delivery Driver role, you’ll be responsible for the proper packing and shipping of home delivery prescriptions for our members to ensure contents arrive safely and on-time. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare manual prescription orders by verifying information, pulling appropriate prescription drugs from inventory
  • Stage and prep drug and supply orders for compounding in a certified sterile IV room.
  • Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral (education materials) are included
  • Utilize the best method for product packing and shipping based on standard procedures to include type of packaging, unique conditions (i.e. refrigeration), etc. to ensure safe and secure delivery
  • Ordering supplies as needed
  • Maintain an accurate inventory
  • Driving includes making deliveries to patient homes, mail facility, or medical facilities that are rush same day. Deliveries are made in company cars; great customer service is expected
  • May also perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product
  • Create shipping labels for pharmacy/patient shipments
  • Receipt and appropriate storage of box order
  • Learn functions related to commercial courier and shipping system
  • Ensure adequate stock of ice bricks for appropriate packaging of daily shipments
  • Empties trash as needed and assembles shipping boxes
  • Maintain knowledge of shipping holiday schedules
  • Maintain open communications regarding courier issues with supervisor

This role is challenging. You’ll need to have strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential as these prescriptions are critical to our members’ health and well-being.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Must have a valid drivers license and driving record
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location – office located at 6508a Basile Rowe, East Syracuse New York , 13057
  • When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse and/or Pharmacy environment
  • Pharmacy Technician Certified

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day and to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work at minimum an eight-hour shift within the hours of 8am –6:30 PM, Monday through Friday with mandatory overtime as needed.
