Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate performs daily warehouse receiving, stocking and put away activities while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Receive and put away stock material accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Ensure outgoing freight is shipped efficiently each day.
- Handle returned goods properly and promptly.
- Handle customer returns and credits in a timely fashion.
- Maintain clean and safe work area, including delivery vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
Additional Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
- Complete assigned training in a timely manner.
- May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process.
- Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates.
- Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read and write.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to accurately pull the correct items.
- Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Some high school
Desired Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Forklift operation experience
Other
Work Environment:
- The Warehouse Associate works in a warehouse or loading dock area. May drive forklifts or operate pallet jacks.
- The associate may be exposed to fumes, odors, and/or dust.
- Temperatures in the work environment may vary between cold and hot depending upon the season.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk throughout warehouse and access storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, bending, and reaching.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and push and pull up to 300 lbs.
