The opportunity:
The VP of Sales for Moving & Storage is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation, and distribution and channel strategy.
As the VP of Sales, you will plan, direct, and coordinate the efforts of sales associates toward the accomplishment of corporate goals and the planned objective of obtaining maximum profitability and sales volume.
You will evaluate new markets and products; provide direction to company Managers to achieve greater market share and revenues; establish a strong dealer presence/network. The position will drive the company’s achievement of revenue and profitability goals.

The VP of Sales for Moving & Storage is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation, and distribution and channel strategy.

- Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals within the Moving & Storage Business.
- Review and work with Sales management on M&S sales budgets.
- Work with Local Sales management and their sales teams to deliver profitable growth in Moving & Storage.
- Define and oversee incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.
- Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.
- Hire and develop moving & storage sales personnel.
- Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting to Company Leadership.
- Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function.
- Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions.
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.
- Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful channel and partner programs.
- Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
- Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships (ability to travel up to 75%).
- Attends trade shows.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 15 years successful sales experience with 7 years in a senior management position - Advanced Degree/MBA preferred
- Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operations level
- 2-5 years of Moving & Storage industry experience
- Proven sales track record in a new product/new market environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team-oriented environment Demonstrated experience with sales methodology and sales funnel management
