Our PMCOE team is currently seeking VP, Deputy IT Business Operations in our Worcester, MA office.

This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the VP of PMO and Strategy, the Vice President, Deputy PMO Officer is responsible for and oversees all activities to advance organizational capabilities within IT around portfolio performance and benefit realization; financial management; processes, practices and compliance; and IT governance.

This role is expected to leverage insights gained from evaluating internal and external landscapes and integrated solutioning to evolve and advance operational maturity. This role will also provide leadership and support in overseeing and prioritizing baseline budgetary demand across IT and developing a 3 to 5-year roadmap and forecast around IT “run the business” spend.

Additionally, this leader will directly manage IT’s PMO to ensure that best in class project, program, and portfolio management practices are applied across IT to enable flawless execution of technology initiatives in support of the organization. The PMO provides its services across IT and other named stakeholders to ensure that best practices are applied, and actionable information is available across the organization.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
This position will provide strategic leadership and direction in the following areas of responsibility:
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries and with senior leadership to effectively manage the “business of IT”
  • Drive evolution of financial management transparency, specifically around IT baseline spend, simplification, and decision-making frameworks
  • Develop, manage, and socialize with senior leadership an ongoing 3 to 5-year baseline forecast that highlights IT’s year over year priorities and associated expenses
  • Enhance and continuously improve a predictive and efficient governance model, processes, and set of tools and capabilities to support IT’s program management efforts across run, grow, and transform initiatives
  • Drive focus on delivering to business value and benefit realization outcomes and foster optimized productivity and efficiency
  • Develop change management and communication approaches that enable desired cultural and process changes
  • Ensure that the risk profile of the portfolios is communicated and managed and that the appropriate Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) process and the corresponding required gates are adhered to
  • Evolve the scope and maturity of the PMO with the right mix of strategic, operational, and tactical focus as needed
  • Ensure consistent and continuous improvement of the PMO’s performance, and facilitate the ongoing transformation of the PMO to best in industry approaches and techniques
  • Orchestrate, facilitate, and evolve mature resource planning and management capabilities
  • Continue to advance Agile and emerging practices and adoption across the enterprise
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Requires 15 years of multi-disciplined IT experience in tools, methodologies and project management with a minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities in management roles; direct leadership and management of a major IT operation preferred.
  • Leader with proven success in designing, developing and maintaining corporate solutions and resources that will provide sustainable cost reductions and continued profitability.
  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional leadership team
  • Experience with budgets, forecasting, cost/benefit analysis, and cost projections
  • Experience and proven skills in negotiating with vendors and managing vendor relationships
  • Experience presenting to and collaborating with sr. and executive level leaders strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated, with strong leadership skills, proven ability to develop talent, and executive leadership presence
  • Very strong communication skills, and a collaborative work style, with the ability to earn the trust of senior management, direct reports, and peers across the organization
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in the realization of project goals and time-bound deliverables; experience coordinating and leading projects across cross-functional teams
  • Very strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong execution orientation, with a drive to deliver tangible results is an absolute must
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and multi-task is essential; must be very organized and have excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding judgment, critical thinking, and time management skills
