Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Videographer/Photographer is responsible for capturing, editing, and creating a wide variety of visual media content, including photography, video and graphic design, that will support Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology’s missions in clinical care, education and research. This is a multi-role position that will work within the marketing team to create and implement visual media content to relay a particular message, idea or concept for the MIR brand. This position requires knowledge and proficiency with current video/photography/graphic design programs to produce elements for various marketing initiatives, including consumer ad campaigns, digital marketing channels, sales materials and internal communications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create video and photographic content to support MIR’s communications and marketing initiatives. Blend technical skills with an artistic eye to professionally execute general and special assignments, including coverage of campus activities and special events; procedures in surgical environments and research labs; editorial photos for publications; medical equipment, such as MR, CT, and PET/CT scanners; headshots, portraiture and group photography; faculty/patient profiles, etc. Edit and produce final-form video and photographic content for use in a wide range of marketing materials, including websites, sales collateral, print and digital magazines, social media platforms, posters, internal newsletters, etc. Apply special effects, motion graphics, retouching and typographic overlays as needed.
  • Provide graphic design and production support for Senior Graphic Designer for various design projects, including sales collateral, event signage and posters. Oversee project workflow for poster production, including printing, mounting and trimming.
  • Coordinate and schedule video and photo shoots within the department of radiology. Serve as project manager for video and photography projects as assigned.
  • Maintain photo and video library using MIR Digital Asset Management system and traffic requests as directed by Senior Graphic Designer.
  • Maintain up-to-date insight of trends and styles in multimedia and communication design.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, film or communications field and at least four years’ work experience in video and/or multimedia production.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-plus years of professional experience taking photos and producing video in a business or academic environment. Experience in a medical, scientific or educational setting a plus.
  • Comprehensive portfolio that demonstrates proven technical, editing and storytelling skills through photography and videography.
  • Proficiency with video, graphic and editing software packages, especially Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience formatting photo and video content for a wide range of media, including print and digital magazine format, HD video and social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with video special effects and motion graphics, and photographic manipulation.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and WordPress.
  • Ability to work in both Mac and PC environments; proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $47,985 - $61,193 annually.
