Videographer/Photographer Intern

About this Opportunity
The Videographer/Photographer Intern will assist with all photo and video creative needs of Rockford Construction through planning, executing, and collaborating with the Communications Team and Construction Field Team Members. The Photographer/Videographer Intern will be responsible for capturing, editing and delivering assets to support Rockford’s print and digital marketing materials. This position will work with our Communications Team and will directly report to Proposal Manager and Content Strategist.
Requirements
- Work with the Communications Team and Field Team Members to promote Rockford’s current construction projects and special events via photos and/or videos
- Capture engaging photos and/or videos to support telling the story behind each unique project
- Assist with maintaining a consistent identity of Rockford Construction by following brand guidelines while meeting Rockford’s marketing requirements
- Think creatively and develop a robust photo and video library for printed and digital content
- Assist with scheduling content to be published on social media at ideal times
- Adheres to Rockford Construction’s onsite safety protocols
- Other duties as assigned
Acquired Skills
As a result of working as the Videographer/Photographer Intern, the student will have the opportunity to acquire and further develop their photography and videography skills, communication, time management, attention to detail, adaptability, and customer service skills while building a portfolio of quality and creative work.
Qualifications
- Open to currently-enrolled college students (preferred majors include Film and Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, Photography)
- Drone certification a plus
- Displays excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to assemble and edit raw assets into finished videos
- Ability to find music or create voice-overs that fits the objectives of the videos
- Explore and create simple animation techniques for better storytelling
- Proficient in photography techniques, including lighting, audio/video editing, graphic design
- Ability to provide photography and photo editing for social media and/or website
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of programs included in the Adobe Creative Suite and HootSuite
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Video Production Software preferred
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation
- Approximately 30-50% travel to local West Michigan jobsites
- Flexible work schedule

Environmental Factors
The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
