THE BIG EPIC SHOW, the comical hip-hop variety show for kids, is now accepting applicants who have a passion for doing video and audio production in a green screen studio.

About THE BIG EPIC SHOW

THE BIG EPIC SHOW, based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the comical hip-hop variety show for kids that entertains toddlers to teens with live hip- hop performances, puppets, special effects, banana suits, costumed characters, and the BIG EPIC Dance Contest!

BES is a national touring kids band who performs for and is highly revered by PBS, Mall of America, Children’s Hospital, Make-a-Wish, large festivals, schools, and parks in the Midwest and nationally.

In 2020, THE BIG EPIC SHOW launched BES Studios, the green screen studio that now produces world-wide children's digital content, Kid Talk With Banana Girl, music videos from the BES latest albums, and more.

Their first album "MAKE IT EPIC” includes 11 tracks of humorous and empowering lyrics about everything from fruit snacks, pets, to talking bananas, veggies, fist pumping, and being proud of who you are. Listen to the album online at www.thebigepicshow.com/music.

Overview Of Internship

BES is onboarding an EPIC Dream Team of ambitious, creative, and business-oriented professionals who want adventure, fun, and limitless creative and professional growth.

THE BIG EPIC SHOW Internship Program is a rigorous program that will expand your current skill sets and teach you valuable entrepreneurial skills for your future endeavors.

This dynamic role will be a mix of on set/on site shoots of 7-10 hours in length 1-2 times per week (on a busy week depending on the BES Project Workload), editing time (up to 10 hours per week), weekly meetings (1.5 hours total), an estimated minimum 15-20 hours per week with the option to request your own hours and schedule.

*Minimum 6 month commitment with the ability to adjust your hours and re-up your internship

*BES partners with large prestigious organizations who hire BES for big creative projects. BES is looking for professionals who do well with finishing projects quickly under pressure and of the highest quality, professionals who can take quick direction from leads, and like interacting with all types of people, talent, and kids content.

Video Production Role Responsibilities

BES is now accepting applications for The BES Video Production And Creative Internship for BES Projects and Initiatives. This is a rigorous, high pressure position for students and recent graduates who are well-trained in live and pre-recorded video production and editing in a green screen studio setting (as well as on the stage), who are looking for additional creative and technical experience.

  • Assemble and operate lighting/computer/camera/audio at BES Green Screen Studio, ensuring the best quality, for live streaming events, performances, and pre-recorded video shoots
  • Edit videos, adding backgrounds/effects/transitions
  • Work with venues and clients on project specifications, upload, and share before deadlines
  • Attend rehearsals, workshops, and meetings to plan upcoming BES creative projects
  • Potentially write content for/produce/record/edit/publish/promote BES creative content
  • Potentially write and direct BES Music Videos and other Creative Content
  • Direct a team of interns
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks needed for projects

Video Production Specific Qualifications

  • Fluent in many types of video production equipment and software specific to a green screen studio and live streaming: OBS, lav mics Cannon camera, web cameras, green screen lighting technique, Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut, iMovie, iMac.
  • Familiar with audio production a plus: live audio mixers, cables, speakers, connecting handheld and headset mics, and be able to troubleshoot problems with equipment and software (BES uses Sure mics, Alto 12 Channel Mixer and Mackie Mixers, high speed iMac, 15" EV Speakers, iTunes, DJay Pro, and Logic)

Audio Production/Stage Manager Internship Role Responsibilities

BES is now accepting applications for The BES Audio Engineer and Stage Management Internship for BES Projects and Initiatives. This is a rigorous, high pressure position for students and recent graduates who are well-trained in live and post audio production and editing, who are looking for additional creative experience in a green screen studio.

  • Online shows and video shoots: Set up sound equipment (lavs/shotgun/boom mics), run sound check, mix sound to the highest quality, cue music, and supervise cast and crew to ensure the stage/set is assembled with precision (you may potentially be in the shot as well or fill in as an intro emcee, puppet character or costumed character if needed)
  • Collaborate with the video production team to ensure that sound, video, and lighting are tested and ready to go for recordings and performances
  • Be another set of eyes for the set, tend to the green screen, check makeup, props, costumes
  • In-person shows: Load/unload equipment, assemble stage/sound/lighting, mix music live, engage with the fans, speak on mic occasionally, cue BES live show music, and DJ post-show music, ensuring that all transitions are done smoothly, perform easy dance moves, engage audience, and do a cast meet-and-greet after the show, load/unload equipment.
  • Breakdown, clean, maintain green screen, and equipment
  • Potentially write jingles, lyrics, produce beats, edit sound for multiple BES Projects
  • Potentially write, record, edit album music for multiple BES Projects
  • Potentially write scripts, sketches for Kid Talk With Banana Girl and additional promotional content and advertisements

Audio Engineer Specific Qualifications

  • Fluent in many types of live audio mixers, cables, speakers, connecting handheld and headset mics, and be able to troubleshoot problems with equipment and software (BES uses Sure mics, Alto 12 Channel Mixer and Mackie Mixers, high speed iMac, 15" EV Speakers, iTunes, DJay Pro, and Logic). Being familiar with Adobe Premiere, OBS, Cannon Cameras, web cameras, and other video production software and equipment is a plus
  • Fluent in video production equipment and software a plus: OBS, lav mics Cannon camera, web cameras, green screen lighting technique, Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut, iMovie, iMac.
