Job Description
AECOM Hunt is seeking a highly talented Vice President, Pre-construction & Estimating to be based with our team in Dallas, TX.

Job Summary:
+ Responsible for providing services involved in planning a construction project before the actual construction begins

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Chief designee and primarily responsible for communicating, proposing and preparing preliminary budget estimates, design cost estimates, design-development cost estimates, and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposals, inclusive of value engineering.

+ Principal liaison between current & potential clients, joint venture partners, architects, and engineers, sub-contractors, vendors, suppliers to organize pre-construction efforts for the project.

+ Responsible in overseeing the pre-construction phases and products such as budget estimates from the pre-concept design stage to the construction document stage.

+ Primary communicator between current & potential clients, joint venture partners, architects, and engineers to assess, examine and review drawings, BIM and specifications of projects.

+ Determine final propositions of means and methods of construction, cost savings or potential problems on the project.

+ Presents budgets to clients, architects, and Project Management Executives and team after having reviewed & adjusted trades costs, if necessary, with estimators.

+ Articulate and present correct strategy and pricing for each component of the construction cost in order to provide our clients with the most competitive and accurate pricing available.

+ Negotiates, analyzes and presents value engineering and cost savings opportunities to clients as required to meet budget constraints.

+ Delegates pre-construction team workload such as acquiring additional project information to finalize proposals such as preliminary schedules, procurement schedule and cost analysis, GMP, construction documents, blueprints, bid packages from subcontractors and contractors, etc.

+ Oversees schedule and work load priorities with pre-construction staff and organize estimating schedule.

+ Assigns work load to distribute drawings specifications, bulletins and all pertinent information to all estimating staff so they can complete their assigned task.

+ Negotiates and reviews bids to sub-contractors, reviews scopes of work and analyze costs as bids are received.

+ Proficiency and usage of estimating program and system to ensure integrity of pre-construction information at all times.

+ Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.

+ Fifteen (15) years of experience in construction and estimating or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

+ Six (6) years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Ability to make decisions regarding financial accuracy of Cost Estimates.

+ Ability to manage/lead staff estimates.

+ Proven strong management experience leading a team

+ Seller / Doer

+ Experience supporting projects in Higher Education and K-12, Sports Arenas, Entertainment Venues, Convention Centers, Municipalities, Healthcare, Mix use, etc.
