Vice President, New Business Development

Summary
The Vice President of New Business Development for Media Solutions is responsible for opening or broadening new business relationships with various national and regional Media companies to become a client of Wiland. Media for Wiland’s purposes includes streaming business’, apps for media stations and egaming. This is a “hunter” sales role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify, contact, and persuade potential prospects to contract for Wiland services. This entails calling (including “cold” calls) and coordinating ongoing communication with prospective clients to win a meeting to sell Wiland solutions either in the coop or non-cooperative databases.
  • Uncover, incubate, and develop sales leads for direct marketers in the Media and Publishing industries that are candidates for solutions from Wiland. These solutions may include multi-channel audiences, digital solutions, data enhancement, business intelligence reporting, ad sales revenue and custom solutions. The initial focus is to bring strong brands to our new digital offering platform.
  • Discern and perceive possible objections of prospective clients quickly, and then clearly and articulately address those concerns in a way that puts the potential client at ease, overcomes objections, and leads the prospect to or use our solutions.
  • Meet with prospective clients in phone conferences, online meetings, and face-to-face to address questions or concerns and persuade such prospects to join Wiland. In addition to meeting with prospective clients, travel also includes trade shows, conferences, etc. The goal of travel is to establish a positive rapport and build a relationship with potential clients, and continually provide professional, positive exposure to Wiland at all meetings.
  • Perform broker outreach to the brokers key to the Media and Publishing industries. This includes regular contact, ensuring they are aware of new products and services and building relationships that ensure Wiland is top of mind when these brokers add additional clients.

Education, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or other related discipline. Must be able to produce college transcripts showing minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • 5+ years sales experience with demonstrable success in new client acquisition and/or sales.
  • 3+ years experience in the Media space (streaming, aps and/or egaming)
  • 5+ year experience in Direct Marketing industry, with experience in data sales
  • 3+ years using Salesforce, or a closely related sales force automation system.
  • Working knowledge of marketing campaign management.
  • Experience in and comfort with working in home office environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong, polished and demonstrated presentation skills.

  • Location: New York, New York
  • Department: New Business Development
  • Compensation Range: $82,000 – $111,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component.
