Veterinary Technician -

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Phoenix, AZ is hiring an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our talented team. This is a part-time position working swing shifts. We offer competitive pay, opportunities for growth, and a night and weekend shift differential!

We are looking for an experienced technician with a strong work ethic who is dedicated to their chosen profession and is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for their patients. You will be able to advance and fully utilize your technical skills. We are looking for someone who proactively seeks opportunities to learn additional skills and participates in continuing education. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vitals signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Qualifications:

• Emergency experience preferred.
• Experience as a Veterinary Technician required
• CVT or experience equivalent preferred.

Certified Veterinary Technician Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience. We also offer a shift differential for eligible shifts (nights and weekends).
