Veterinary Surgery/Anesthesia Technician

Westford Veterinary Surgical Specialists (WVSS), Westford, MA is searching for either a full-time (FT) or part-time (PT) veterinary technician who wants to grow to his/her fullest career potential and who has a strong interest in surgery and anesthesia.

WVSS provides specialized soft tissue, orthopedic and reconstructive surgical care for companion animals throughout New England. We are outfitted with excellent equipment for the aspiring anesthetist and provide the highest-quality surgical care. We work collaboratively with Westford Veterinary Emergency Referral Center to provide 24-hour, state-of-the-art care.

Job responsibilities:

• All aspects of surgical support and anesthesia care. Technician will be under supervision of board-certified surgeon with ability to consult with a board-certified anesthesiologist for critical and complicated anesthetic cases.
• Other veterinary technician duties including taking radiographs, placing IV catheters, admitting and discharging patients, scheduling, and inventory.
• There are no mandatory on-call responsibilities and your weekends are free!

Qualifications:

• Must be able to independently anesthetize, intubate, monitor, and recover healthy pets; we can train you for more advanced cases!
• Part-timers should be willing to work a full day with number of days negotiable.
• Preference to certified/licensed veterinary technicians or those with equivalent experience
