Job Description

Candidates must have at least 2 years of companion animal veterinary practice experience for consideration and MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE WITHIN OUR SERVICE AREA of Sarasota/Osprey/Nokomis/South Bradenton. Knowledge of the area including seasonal traffic flow patterns is crucial to the scheduling portion of this position; No exceptions.

We are a busy mobile veterinary practice seeking a receptionist/ administrative/personal assistant to handle a variety of duties including reception, scheduling, client communication, delivery services, and general support tasks for our veterinary team. Ideal applicants should have strong written and verbal communication skills, a warm, friendly demeanor and an ability to manage a hectic schedule on the fly. As a small, independent practice, our assistant will help to assure that our clients continue to receive the personalized, professional attention they deserve as we grow. Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Previous experience in a veterinary background is required.

Duties:

Client relations: Qualified candidates will possess strong communication skills and ability to manage a complex and dynamic schedule. The assistant will answer phone calls, manage client communications from multiple platforms including email and texts, set appointments, and gather client and patient information. We use a web-based practice management system which allows us to seamlessly operate from any location.

Deliveries: The assistant will be responsible for timely delivery of products to our clients, and transport of patients to and from various locations when required.

Other: The assistant will be available to carry out various miscellaneous tasks and manage projects as deemed necessary by the veterinary team as well as possess a high level of initiative in identifying opportunities for improved workplace efficiency. Tasks may include shopping, online research, product procurement, etc. The assistant may periodically be called upon to accompany and assist the veterinary team during patient visits. The assistant will also oversee care and maintenance of company vehicles.

Applicants should be able to sit or stand for extended periods, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds. Some handling of dogs and cats will be required, and a desire to work with pets is a must.

The assistant will maintain a professional comportment at all times. Uniforms, company vehicle, phone, and computer will be provided to facilitate the assistant's duties.

A clean background check and unblemished driving record are imperative.

PTO and insurance benefits will be made available for qualifying full-time positions.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
