Veterinary Receptionist
Vet Stop Animal Clinic (St. Peters, MO)
The Position:
This position is typically the first point of contact, welcoming our pets and clients as our ambassador. It is a critical position in helping to support the management of an efficient, friendly, clean, and customer focused service environment. The candidate will manage our front desk on a daily basis and perform a variety of customer and administrative tasks and activities. Ultimately, this position’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes our patients/clients/guests positively and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service such as greeting customers, answering questions, processing incoming patients, and handling payments
  • Checking patients in, discharging patients, invoicing
  • Answer phone calls which may include answering questions, scheduling appointments and recording messages for doctors and staff
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email
  • Update and file patient charts
  • Enter data into computerize billing program
  • Retrieve prescriptions as needed
  • Assist with pet supply purchases such as food, supplements, and grooming items
  • Maintain the cleanliness of waiting room
  • Manage retail sales business and assist with inventory needs
  • Help maintain safety procedures by ensuring all processes/procedures are understood and followed
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs or more, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time.
  • Travel may be required.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
  • Customer Service Attitude
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multitask
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Tech savvy, comfortable with office equipment and learning new systems
  • Team oriented, willing to jump in and offer support
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and positive attitude
