Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Veterinary clinic in Elk Grove is seeking a part-time receptionist/veterinary assistant. We are a 1 doctor small animal practice. The position will be 20-25 hours per week and includes working 2 Saturday mornings per month. Position requires someone who is self-motivated and able to multi-task efficiently. Basic computer skills required. Excellent customer service and communication skills are a must. Professional appearance, positive attitude and dependability are highly valued.

Job duties/responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Safely restraining pets for exams, medical treatments and lifting animals over 50 lbs.

Monitor and care for animals after surgery

Prepare patients for discharge and communicate aftercare to clients

Knowledge of vaccination and preventative medicine protocols

Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment

Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam rooms and common areas

Schedule and confirm appointments

Candidates must be flexible with their hours and able to work Saturdays.
