Advanced Veterinary Care Group in Canton, MI is seeking an experienced technician. We offer a workday free of the mundane cases of an ordinary day practice. We are a diagnostic and surgical hospital without all of the high stress and long hours of emergency or specialty clinics.

The responsibilities of a veterinary assistant/receptionist include:

  • Care for animals by providing for their physical needs and ensuring that they are comfortable
  • Take care of animals’ hygiene such as bathing, cleaning feces, and disinfecting cages
  • Take animals’ vital signs
  • Prepare animals for procedures
  • Assist veterinarians and others in conducting medical procedures, and surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in administering medications and injections
  • File reports, fill out forms, update records, and do other clerical tasks
  • Keep all parts of the facility clean, neat, and stocked
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and route calls to other staff members in line with the hospital’s protocols
  • Prepare patient forms and files ahead of their scheduled appointments for easy access when they arrive
  • Handle emergency cases appropriately by keeping clients and patients at ease
  • Promptly notify the doctor of the arrival of patients, and the state of patients’ condition to avoid keeping patients with serious conditions waiting for long as this could worsen their condition.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

To keep our staff safe and healthy we are operating on a curbside process. Therefore no clients are allowed into the building at this time. We also strictly enforce face masks to be worn in the hospital any time working in close proximity with others.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Veterinary Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
