AS THE VERIFICATION/AUTHORIZATIONS SPECIALIST, you'll verify the insurances on all patients that are referred to Penn Highland Community Nurses for services both hospice and home health. They are responsible to verify the insurance benefits either on the phone or online and clearly document this benefit information on the patients chart. They must get detailed insurance information for our reimbursement and for the amounts that patient will be responsible for. They are also responsible to contact the referring Physician to verify that the patient has made a visit to see the doctor to support the request for the services from Penn Highlands Community Nurses. They are to be responsible and maintain specific Insurance Verification in the documentation software/billing system. Responsible for obtaining authorizations as required by insurance companies dependent upon the plan coverage for all patients. Responsible for providing accurate and complete data input for authorization requests and confirms the patient's eligibility and available benefits based upon the current enrollment information. In addition the insurance companies will be called /faxed as a follow up to the requests that have been entered. The above is to ensure that authorization is entered/ verified for the visits needed to provide excellent care to the patients.

- One to two years' experience in billing, authorization department of home health setting
- Must have knowledge and experience with all types of insurances
- Ability to communicate and problem solve issues professionally and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong computer skills required
- Clinical background/knowledge preferred
