We are a seeking positive, enthusiastic, team orientated individual who wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment to develop and improve vendor strategy that will help strengthen ADUSA Brands’ (Stop & Shop, Food Lion, Hannaford, Giant Food and The Giant Company) relationships with key vendor partners (CPG vendors, fresh vendors, private brand vendors, and diverse-owned vendors).
Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role
The Vendor Strategy Manager will work with the Vendor Strategy Lead to define the long-term vendor partnership model for selected key vendors, inclusive of:
relationship guiding principles
meeting cadence, structure and supporting materials
joint strategic initiatives and target setting
enhanced partnership perks our company can offer to top vendors (holistic cross-functional and cross-brand view of opportunities)
reporting / tracking the set long-term goals
In addition to that, Vendor Strategy Manager will:
Facilitate strategic dialog and create corresponding supporting materials across key cross-brand vendor engagement touchpoints (e.g. top to top meetings with key vendor partners, industry conferences, vendor summits, ad hoc leadership meetings)
Guides cross-functional team to collaborate with key vendors, tracks and reports on aligned strategic vendor initiatives in partnership with key functions
Liaises across all ADUSA Brands and support functions (e.g. supply chain and retail media) to collect all relevant information to ensure a comprehensive view of key strategic vendor partners is available
Assist as needed with supplier diversity agenda for commercial business

The Essentials in Your Cart - The required ingredients
Provide general oversight to the Vendor Strategy Analyst team members by helping to prioritize and sequence the team’s work and by reviewing work for quality control
Work directly with PDL functional, Brand and Supply Chain Leadership to create, lead and execute vendor strategy practices. As this is a new function, this will be largely created by the Vendor Strategy Manager and Lead
Facilitate large meetings in a professional and collaborative manner
Create and execute new vendor strategy practices per the detailed description in the upfront position summary section.
Work effectively across the broader PDL organization and with business partners/stakeholders throughout the organization with limited oversight from the Vendor Strategy Lead
Inspire and motivate team and business partners to deliver innovative and high impact initiatives aligned to the commercial strategy
Act as an ambassador for vendor strategy and as the primary contact for vendor’s strategic queries
Deliver key messages to stakeholders and escalate issues accordingly
Assemble meaningful presentations to share PDL’s strategy to key internal and external vendor partners
Works through high-pressure and time-sensitive situations
Extra Spices - What you should bring to the table
Bachelor’s degree; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
Specializations in Strategy, Marketing, Operations, Change Management would be beneficial
Intimate knowledge of appraoches to build strategies and various supporting strategic frameworks
Solid understanding of the commerical business and vendor relationships
Track record of successful delivery of large scale - cross functional projects
Good verbal and written communicator, bridge builder
Excels at establishing and fostering relationships
Detail and process orientated
