Job SummaryThe primary function of the VMI Manager is to develop and manage a team of qualified individuals that will provide hands on leadership to customers, suppliers and staff of AIS with regards to our customer managed solutions. Specifically, the VMI Manager will manage the AIS Division’s Customer Solutions department to provide timely & accurate services to our customers on their standard or customer specific integration. The job of VMI Manager will ensure that the AIS team delivers best in practice vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations. Along with working directly with our customer base, the VMI Manager will also be required to provide leadership for our AIS employees responsible for the execution of our VMI solutions.

- Professional customer service
- Logical in thought process and diligent in implementation
- Experienced in managing bin fill systems and VMI operations
- Crib Master Vending Machine technical set up and fill process
- Trained in Project Management
- Use of or an understanding of the P21 operating system is a definite benefit
- Use of Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Carry a professional and positive attitude
- Ability to communicate to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain the quality and accuracy of Customer Service operations, with the common goal of putting the customer first
- Conduct according to the terms and conditions outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Professional representation of AIS to our customers
- Understanding of VMI systems and programs
- Working with our RSM’s and our Key customers to design a VMI program and to review satisfaction levels.
- Managing our VMI team to ensure we are working with our customers to find system improvements & efficiencies
- Managing and designing the processes for bin delivery to customer’s location
- Designing the training process for new VMI implementations
- Coordinating the implementation planning and preparations for new bin fill accounts and assisting in their implementations when needed
- MRO and Crib Mater Vending implementation/knowledge of technology based program.
- Training of VMI Auditors for use of Crib Master Vending fill system
- Managing new program on site implementation
- Overseeing our on-site inventory control at customer locations
- Managing our Merchandisers (Delivery Personnel) in all Division locations
- Managing our off site temporary Merchandisers
- Assisting with the control of our third-party locations (3PL’s)
- Driving to and from customer locations
- Occasional planned travel for training & on site implementations
- Coordinate the design of new technologies that meet the needs of the customer
- Coordinate other internal projects using Project Management Methodologies
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
- Sales / customer service experience
- Logistics experience
- Project Management experience
- Previous management experience
- Computer Skills
- Basic math and writing skills
- Industrial Hardware / Fastener experience preferred.
- English speaking
