Overview:
The Van Driver provides safe, convenient, and reliable transportation for guests of the hotel. You will be focused on optimizing each guest's experience by living out our company purpose of "hospitality from our family to yours".
Responsibilities:
- Drives incoming/departing hotel guests to hotel, airport, shopping center and miscellaneous destinations.
- Provides guests with intuitive customer service by opening the door, assisting with luggage, and offering information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel as well as local dining options, events, points of interest, and entertainment.
- Pages guests in lobby or other parts of property. Delivers messages and runs errands.
- Obeys all traffic rules and speed limits for safe, accident-free trips.
- Pass on pertinent information to next shift: Group information, follow-up required for guests or shift responsibilities.
- Promptly reports all emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems and safety hazards to management.
- Clean and inspect hotel vehicles. Maintain vehicle interior and exterior cleanliness, pump gas and obtain oil changes.
- Maintains front porte-cochere and lobby areas to ensure they are in a clean and tidy manner; this includes, but is not limited to emptying ashtrays, picking up trash, emptying trash cans, sweeping/hosing off outdoor sidewalk, sweeping/mopping/vacuuming interior flooring.
- Greet each guest that you encounter during your shift with a friendly smile.
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Follow hotel procedures for reporting and turning in lost and found articles.
- Coordinate with other departments as necessary to resolve service requests or problems.
- Ensure guest and associate safety by following established security procedures including emergency procedures, key security and protecting guest and company confidential information.
- Follow all company and safety procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to understand and obey all traffic rules, speed limits and federal, state and local driving regulations.
- Minimum 4 years of driving experience.
- Ability to utilize a map/GPS for navigation.
- Knowledge of the local area is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and staff in person and over the phone/radio.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
