Job Description
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience driving creative strategy and execution for digital products.
- 3+ years of experience leading creative multi-disciplinary teams as Design Manager, Principal Designer, or related role.
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating expertise across platforms (Mobile, Web, TV)
In this role, you will lead a small team of UX and VUI designers to define and deliver Alexa video experiences that span multiple platforms including Mobile, Echo Devices, and Fire TV. You will establish mechanisms for collaboration with Product Mangers, Researchers, Engineers, and Program Managers across different parts of the organization. No detail is beyond you as you will drive for design excellence from concept to bug-bashing. As a Design leader, you will work closely with Product Owners to craft the vision, set product direction, as well as influence the overall strategy of Alexa Entertainment.
To be successful, you must be a critical, inventive, and strategic thinker with the ability to communicate your ideas effectively to peers, stakeholders and executives.
Responsibilities
- Balance hands-on work with managing and creatively leading a team of UX and VUI designers to define and deliver end-to-end customer experiences.
- Use research, data, and customer insights to set design direction and confidently defend design solutions with senior leaders.
- Lead cross-discipline workshops, strategic design discussions, and design reviews with peers, partners, and top-level executives.
- Continue the growth and development of a team through design reviews, coaching, skills growth, and supporting ongoing learning.
- Develop and nurture relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency.
- A proven track record of influencing leadership decisions through design and research.
- A proven track record of shaping design culture and operations with partner organizations
- Expertise in human-centered design process and data-driven design.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience crafting designs for voice interfaces
- Experience in B2C entertainment and 2-sided marketplaces.
- Experience with motion design and media production.
- Masters in Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction, Design, or related field.
