Job Description
Position Summary:

The Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) seeks someone to manage financial activities and other reporting metrics of the department under the direction of the Department Administrator. This is a complex department with clinical, research, and teaching activities, with significant financial activity at UW/SMPH, UW Health, and UW Foundation.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.



Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum 18 months accounting experience for Bachelor's degree, three years accounting experience for Associate's degree required. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. The position requires attention to detail and accuracy; ability to interpret and apply complex rules and requirements; excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; knowledge of automated accounting systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; effective written and oral communication skills; confidentiality and professionalism; flexibility and adaptability. Knowledge of University, UW Health, and UW Foundation fiscal policies and procedures preferred.



License or Certificate:

Wisconsin CPA license preferred.
