An outstanding HR Generalist, who brings a proven track record of success as an active business partner ensuring all HR processes are follow and in compliance with policies and procedures. Works closely with functional experts to ensure that the information and programs they are providing to employees are accurate and complete. This role is a member of the Global Supply Chain HR team responsible for providing efficiency through tools and analysis on all People practices which are aligned with and enhance our core values.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs HR routine including but not limited to benefits, leaves, compensation, performance, talent management, recognition, OSHA, workers compensation, and training & development, employee relations including disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training and anti-harassment training.
- Collaborates with SC talent acquisition and functional leaders to understand skills needed and support the recruitment and onboarding process for openings.
- Develop employee engagement activities that help elevate and build company culture.
- Conducts new hire orientation and actively participates on steps in the onboarding process in partnership with operational leaders.
- Assist with payroll and ensure employee records are compliant, audit payroll records, validate employee and company information is accurate.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Functional expert on site. Contribute to the development of the group. Support communication and information flow through the site.
- Coach, support and develop the local function Managers, Supervisors, and associates.
- Provides partnership, tools and training for leaders related to disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, employment law and new technologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1 -3 years of direct human resource generalist experience.
- SHRM-CP a plus.
- Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- High ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
