Responsibilities encompass the coordination of activities involved in the management of the unit or support services. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on attainment of established goals; may be responsible for supervision of all employees assigned to the unit of responsibility.

Major/Essential Functions

Reviews and pre-approves newly submitted CME/CNE planning documents. Assures that all internal paperwork is completed (i.e. LOA's, Structured Abstract forms, etc.) and that CME/CNE program is assigned to appropriate
departmental staff member to finalize activity coordination.

Assist the Senior Director in fulfilling departmental supervisory tasks. Must complete via established institutional deadlines and the accurate and timely submission of leave forms, approving time sheets,additional compensation, EPAF's and performance evaluation and counseling.

Examine the accuracy of all CME/CNE events closeout data that subordinates will present to activity directors and planning committee members. Direct subordinates to prepare the most appropriate form to evaluate events that meet the departmental mission.

Provides administrative guidance to subordinate staff on query building and data analysis for CME/CNE reports.

Assist the Senior Director in the gathering of evidence and feedback from learners/participants that demonstrates that the educational interventions taking place, increased knowledge, enhances skills, of the healthcare team and/or improved patient outcomes.

Assists the Senior Director in organizing, writing, researching and coordinating efforts to obtain and/or maintain the ACCME and ANCC Accreditation.

Represents the CME office at campus and community events. In the absence of the Senior Director, assumes responsibilities as the acting department head.

Create a CME related personal professional development plan constructed by a need assessment tool to identify areas of improvement related to adult learning principles teaching methods. Create a learning plan that includes attending external educational activities with the use of the need assessment tool. Attend 2-3 identified
CME/CNE-related continuous professional development trainings. Provide need assessment tool and self-learning plan to the Senior Director on a yearly basis.

Work closely with internal/external staff to ensure accurate funding occurs for all accounts, balancing and reporting is completed in a timely manner. Researches and prepares reports for finance management and auditors.

Responsible for planning, managing, and evaluation of Continuing Nursing Education (CNE), Continuing Medical Education (CME) or joint CME/CNE program(s) using the ANCC and ACCME criteria.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems; detail oriented with experience in managing multiple projects
simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively with university faculty, administrators, clinicians, and colleagues.
Experience in applying adult learning principles in the design of educational activities.
Experience in planning, production, and evaluation of professional education activities.
Experience in a continuing medical and/or nursing education in a medical or health professional school Medical School setting or other educational environment preferred.
Accounting knowledge or experience.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Excellent verbal and writing skills.
