Job Summary:
The UW Support Assistant is a team position working closely with branch Underwriting Assistants, as well as working directly with all Underwriters.Essential Functions:
- Provide direct support to Underwriters
- Invoice bonds
- Maintain suspense calendar other follow up procedures
- Follow specific written & verbal procedures
- Set up bond files in the system
- Close all types of files – Bond closings with no premium adjustments
- Perform special projects and others tasks as assigned by supervisor
Additional Functions:
- Backup for answering phones and reception duties
- Backup for filing when needed
- Prepare outgoing mail and overnights
- Pull Credit Reports – Personal, Business, Lexus, & Westlaw
- Set Up and maintain structure of system files
- Prepare indemnity agreements & other miscellaneous agreements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook; Internet Explorer
- Ability to interact positively, succinctly and professionally with all levels of internal clients and be comfortable building a rapport with differing personalities
- Able to complete tasks and assignments in a high volume work environment
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
- Demonstrate the ability to produce error-free work and achieve high levels of accuracy. Strong attention to detail
- Ability to analyze a problem and develop a solution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers in a professional manner
- Team player that works well in a collaborative environment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment as well as independently
Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma; College experience a plus.
- Strong customer service or corporate support experience with an emphasis in supporting transactional workflow.
