About the Job
Assists with the underwriting and evaluation of low income housing tax credit equity investments. Assists with the maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and prospects. Demonstrates strong credit underwriting skills. Understands and identifies the needs of low and moderate income (LMI) neighborhoods. Participates in maintaining a “trusted advisor” relationship with clients.

Displays underwriting expertise. Understands the affordable housing industry.
Provides initial analysis of low income housing tax credit transactions for assessment by Underwriters and Relationship Managers.
Partners effectively with team in connection with credit decisioning and closing and funding risk mitigation.
As needed, assists Underwriters with investment write-up for consideration by Senior Relationship Managers.
As needed, participates in credit processes and assumes accountability for ensuring sound asset quality, including contributions to the underwriting and structuring of transactions.
Sales and Service
Serves as a trusted financial advisor to clients.
Works with Underwriters and Senior Relationship Managers to implement strategies for acquiring, retaining and growing select clients.
Develops clear and holistic understanding of client’s or prospect’s project needs. Analyzes data and topical information relevant to the client’s proposed project and strategy.
Stays in touch with Community Development industry trends and topics such as tax credit policy changes, market factors affecting lease up, and portfolio risk.
Develops Center of Influence (COI) referral network and continues to expand this network.
Works with Underwriters and Senior Relationship Managers to Identify cross-sell opportunities.
Anticipates and solves internal obstacles for the client with a sense of urgency and consistently finds the right way to get things done for the client.
Possesses aptitude for creative and strategic thinking to arrive at multiple potential ways to achieve identified client goals.
Serves on community boards and professional organizations which enhance the profile of the Key and add value to low to moderate income communities.
Administrative:
Practices disciplined use of the technology tools and procedures provided by Key.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field or urban and regional planning, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of tax credit investment, financial services, commercial real estate finance, and/or project development related experience.
Experience working in relationship management teams with a proven understanding of the importance of balancing business development and asset quality.
Outstanding credit skills, analytical skills and financial acumen.
Experience with or demonstrates aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong client relationship and internal partnering skills.
Ability to solve internal obstacles and find resolution within an organization.
Strong knowledge of tax credit financing and financing of multi-family real estate development.
