Job Summary
The Security Officer will protect people and property from possible criminal activity.

- None.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide a professional, uniformed, armed and unarmed preventive presence to help maintain the orderly conduct of business. The security officer(s) on duty must at all time, without exception, be courteous, exercise tact and diplomacy in their daily contact with the public and staff.
- The assigned security officer(s) shall wear a vendor supplied uniform with a photo identification card prominently displayed at all times on a breast pocket.
- Provide safety and security for the employees, customers and visitors.
- Assist State employees, as requested, in performing temperature checks and health screenings for customers and employees.
- Prevent, detect and appropriately control incidents of criminal activity and/or threats to State assets.
- Intervene and control incidents in accordance with local, State and Federal laws and industry standards.
- Respond to emergencies and requests for assistance.
- Provide continuous security services during the agreed-to schedule at the specified location.
- Remain at the site location pending the departure of the last customer. This may include patrolling the area hallways and checking bathrooms to ensure that all visitors have departed from the building.
- Any searches, detentions or arrests of visitors or employees shall be conducted at the discretion of the USO in accordance with statutory and constitutional restrictions. Such incidents shall be documented by the USO for the State and reported on incident report forms provided by the vendor.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Authoritative verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
- Must have one (1) to two (2) years of documented experience in the security industry.
- Must submit license number or copy of security guard license with application.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Security Officer training certification preferred.
- Previous experience is a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
- Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Emergency Assignment: Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
