Ultrasound Technologist – Ultrasound

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is a 423-bed acute care hospital that has been serving the north Houston community for more than 40 years, providing a wide range of medical services including cardiology, maternity care, neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, bariatrics and neurology.

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:

  • The Ultrasound Tech Multi Register performs quality sonographic examinations using protocols determined by the Medical Director/Radiologist, transports patients whenever necessary, and exhibits a strong level of customer service to all patients, family, and hospital staff members.

  • Open to and actively seeks to improve and apply new skills.

  • Trains new employees and students in learning department processes and protocols.

  • Maintains departmental compliance logs.

  • Ensures all orders have the required 5 elements.

  • Scan documents in PACS correctly, making sure they are appropriately labeled.

  • Resolved QA issues in a timely manner, ensures images are released to radiologists in a timely manner.

  • RIS: ensures orders are valid and entered appropriately, ensures ordering physician is correct.

  • Participates in departmental accreditation process and Q&A.

  • Assists with biopsy procedures.


Qualifications


What qualifications you will need:

  • Prefer 2 years working in a clinical setting performing sonographic procedures.

  • ARRT (S) or RDMS AND RVT or RVS

  • Graduates of an accredited Ultrasound School

  • Must obtain registration within 12 months of graduation

  • Basic BLS from an AHA provider
