Job Description
Crittenden Community Hospital has an immediate opening for PRN Ultrasonographer.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all dynamic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision as ordered by physicians for patients in the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Knowledge of sonographic examinations
2.Knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound equipment operation and the utilization of the PACS (Picture Arching and Communication System) system.
3.Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques
4.Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
5.Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas
6.Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Health Systems policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Performs other related duties as assigned
2.Ability to maintain confidential information
3.Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and families, all associates, referring physicians and administration who may or may not be under physical and/or emotional stress
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
1.American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography registered, or registry eligible
2.Satisfactory completion of an echocardiography training program
3.Prior experience preferred; extensive on the job training.
