Job Description

The Daily Commercial Record, a family-owned newspaper organization in downtown Dallas is growing and in need of an EXCEPTIONAL administrative professional and word processor. MUST BE ABLE TO TYPE 60 WPM or 14,000 keystrokes per hour.

We need someone that loves typing with strong customer service and organizational skills.

The position entails managing the electronic and physical production of multiple newspapers, assisting with document integration and typing of all legal documents for publication. Position will require typing, formatting public data, proofreading documents for accuracy, answering phones and other administrative duties. Candidate will also have backup duties to production manager and business manager.

We work in a fast and efficient paced environment due to our 24-hour turnaround time. Our work here is repetitive and detail oriented. However, we do have a relaxed work environment with a small staff.

Ideal candidate should be computer savvy, outgoing, motivated, organized, able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize while working under the pressure of deadlines with a team work ethic.

Must have the following to be considered:

· Administrative and clerical tasks, answering phones receiving customers and assisting managers, editor and publisher

· Proofreads data and text for accuracy

· Perform data entry from source documents and information from computer screen

· Responds to customer questions by phone, email and other communication methods, representing the local brand.

· 60 WPM or 14,000 keystrokes per hour minimal errors

· Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.) Microsoft Office used currently

· Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently, work proactively, and to achieve results without close supervision

· Ability to quickly learn and adapt as well as adjust priorities

· Dependable, punctual, professional demeanor

· Organizational skills with keen eye for details

· Mac/Apple computer experience but not mandatory

· QuarkXpress, Adobe Indesign and other Adobe Acrobate skills a plus but not necessary

· Bi-Lingual will be an asset

**TYPING TEST WILL BE REQUIRED**
Pay: $600 per week

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday & 8:00 - 2:00 pm Friday.

Some remote work may be possible.
