About the Role BookNook Tutoring is working to dramatically expand our online tutor team to support the learning needs of K-8th grade students across the country. In order to meet our ambitious goals, we need a skilled and collaborative team focused on process and operations - building the systems that will ensure tutors feel prepared and supported to begin tutoring. The tutor operations team will focus on both technical and adaptive opportunities to support the development of a smooth, positive and supportive environment for tutors and students alike. Reporting to the Director, Tutor Operations, the Tutor Operations Specialist will be one of many new additions to our new, growing team.
At BookNook you will:
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience in line with BookNook’s values.
Partner with our internal BookNook impact team to support tutor implementations.
Support the project management of all on-boarding requirements for tutor readiness.
Shepherd tutors through the on-boarding process, including but not limited to enrolling in payroll system, completing all required trainings, understanding BookNook policies/procedures, etc.
Support the Tutor Compliance team as needed to ensure tutors complete fingerprinting and background checks in accordance with state and school district requirements.
Support in troubleshooting tutor scheduling issues.
Support the development of operational systems and processes that support compliance, mitigate risk, and ensure a positive tutor and client experience.
Communicate with tutor candidates to keep them engaged in our process.
Work collaboratively with the BookNook Tutoring team to set and meet ambitious onboarding and tutor experience goals.
Continuously recommend and implement improvements to our operations.
Support the development of institutional knowledge and tutor communication templates as it relates to tutor operations.
Manage a variety of special projects in a start-up environment as we build the team and support our tutors.
Onboard thousands of reading and literacy tutors to support students all over the country.
You are a good fit for this role if you have:
1-2 years of experience in operations, with a specific focus on HR and onboarding.
Excellent written communication skills and a high level of people-centered customer service.
Tenacious ability to gather needed information from various sources.
Enjoy developing and improving systems with an eye for the user experience.
Exceptional project management skills, with an ability to keep track of all the details, follow through on every one, and keep multiple priorities on track.
An excitement for building things as you are working on them, improving them as you go.
A self-starter approach to fast–paced, ever-changing work environment.
Strong goals orientation, project management and organizational skills.
Familiarization with various project management software a plus (Asana, Google Sheets).
