Summary/Objective
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the trust operations area. Assist in making suggestions to improve the procedure and help implement those changes.
Essential Functions

- Places stock and mutual fund trades.
- Sends accounting to preparers, monitors completion and filing of returns, prepares and mails 1099’s.
- Coordinates ongoing compliance.
- Prepares and sends 5498’s, prepares and/or monitors completion and mailing of 5500’s and 1099’s.
- Set up files, obtains TIN, establishes new account on accounting system.
- Communicates with brokers, mutual fund companies, etc. and initiates or completes documentation to transfer or reregister assets.
- Follows up to develop complete inventory of assets and valuation.
- Receives and forwards premium notices, receives contributions, sends Crummey notices, pays premiums.
- Annually updates life insurance trust information summary for Directors Trust Committee.
- Balances DDA account daily.
- Reviews posted transactions daily.
- Manages “clean-up” on annual rotating basis, supervises micro-filming and discard of closed files.
- Computes fees, bills or initiates assessment of fees, monitors fee collection.
- Prepares accounting reports for Director’s Trust Committee, maintains minute book.
- Openly communicates to all departments within the bank to determine efficiencies and improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee should be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional working hours may be required for this position to ensure the functionality of the department and overall functionality of the bank.
Travel
Some travel may be required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- 2-4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous Trust experience.
