Job Description

Amalgamated Bank is seeking a Trust Business Risk Analyst to facilitate risk management oversight and execution within Trust Operations. This role will leverage understanding of risk frameworks to assist the business line to strengthen controls and mitigate operational risk as the bank continues to grow.


Essential Job Functions
:

  • Facilitate risk assessment completion, update and maintain: risk and controls descriptions, key risk indicators (KRIs), and audit and regulatory issue mitigation plans
  • Ensure adequacy of controls relevant to the Line of Business “LOB” particularly SOC and SOX controls, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct periodic self-testing of design and effectiveness of controls, providing recommendations for enhancement in alignment with the Chief Trust Officer
  • Develop and maintain process workflows for all critical processes within the LOB
  • Partner with the Chief Trust Officer to ensure policies and procedures are up to date
  • Work with Risk and Compliance to stay informed on relevant regulatory changes and/or changes in the law. Advise LOB lead on relevant changes
  • Assist with the preparation of management and committee materials as requested
  • Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning for the LOB
  • Lead LOB vendor related activities which include but are not limited to: SLA performance, SOC reporting, relevant entity controls within the LOB, etc
  • Act as Point of Contact for LOB during Audit and Exams
  • Perform other duties as needed


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience within an operations environment, preferably in a risk or control oriented banking environment
  • Good understanding of operational controls and risk management techniques
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required to interpret data
  • Ability to assess situations, competing needs, requirements and solve problems independently within aggressive time constraints, seeking guidance and approval where required
  • Ability to produce quality deliverables demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert level experience with Powerpoint, Excel and Visio
