Truss Designer - Single Family/Light Commercial

Knowledge

• Minimum of five years of single family and/or light commercial truss design experience utilizing the Mitek truss design software
• Demonstrate the ability to read and understand blueprints
• Demonstrate mathematical skills required to calculate concentrated and uniform loads
• Working knowledge of floor and roof systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangers
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently managing multiple tasks, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
• Ability to sit at a desk for up to ten hours
• Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
• Good people skills with strong customer service attitude and proper phone etiquette

• Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
• Ability to read and understand blue prints
• Strong math skills
• Ability to use a computer, and proficiency of the use of Mitek and other business and design related software.
• Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, including customers, peers, and management
• Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work, to meet deadlines, to prepare plans, goals and budgets.
• Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, be mobile in the work environment, and work hours mandated by management.
• Ability to pass a drug test

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include incentives and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and Business Unit Performance may also be provided.
