Our Ecoservices division is on the hunt for a Treatment Services Production Manager for our Baton Rouge, LA plant.

The Production Manager role responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company products.
  • Responds to electronic inquires/memo regarding unit operations/maintenance/safety concerns on computer systems.
  • Reviews operations logs to obtain operational overview regarding previous shift operational status, maintenance requirements, and safety issues/concerns.
  • Review previous night shift work orders electronically through the SAP computer system.
  • Confers with maintenance supervisor to prioritize and coordinate resolutions to maintenance issues. Reviews repairs and documents tasks completion till closeout.
  • Secures confined space entry on vessels using proper lockout procedures and environmental testing for oxygen and lower explosive limits. Analyzes types of personnel protective equipment required time frame of entry, and length of entry. Ensures sumps are operational as needed.
  • Utilizes knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures to develop short-term and long-term solutions regarding maintenance issues within the unit.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and safety of subordinates. Observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards.
  • Utilizes knowledge of equipment and machine capabilities to develop action plan to increase the reliability of the unit. Recognizes problems and opportunities to formulate action plan(s) for obtaining/surpassing unit standards and achieving production and quality goals.
  • Obtain data regarding quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products to internal customers.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Develop and implement a capital expenditure plan for all necessary TS facilities.
  • Participates in a monthly respiration fit test.
  • Develop priorities for plant in conjunction with TS sales team.
  • Manage operations and maintenance budget for the unit.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of low burn rates, and operating or production problems. Compiles operational data and displays on graphs to facilitate/enhance unit and personnel performance.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Track procedure and process changes on Managing of Change form to document coordination and communication to appropriate personnel the stages of change implementation till completion.
  • Direct and lead the effort to drive the acid plants to aggresively burn material, minimize natural gas usage, expand capabilities, and increase operational flexibility.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. Consults with engineering and maintenance personnel as well as other resource avenues relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Conducts initial tank outage meetings to determine scope of work.
  • Reviews incident database and reports to determine cause of incident. Develop causal tree as needed. Document initial incident situation pictorially and track implementation of resolution (s) to insure closure and abatement of cause.
  • Monitor safety performance and housekeeping within the unit daily.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering from a four year college or university (Chemical Engineering degree preferred) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
  • Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Applies principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions, in books, manuals, and mathematical form.
  • Deals with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Utilizes algebra that deals with system of real numbers; linear quadratic, rational, exponential; logarithmic, angle and circular functions, and inverse functions; related algebraic solution of equations and inequalities; limits and continuity, and probability and statistical inference. Also utilizes geometry including deductive axiomatic geometry, plane and solid; and rectangular coordinates. Will utilize shop math including practical application of fractions, percentages ratio and proportion, mensuration, logarithms, practical algebra, geometric constructions, and essentials of trigonometry.
  • Reads periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
  • Prepares business letters, expositions, summaries, memos, electronic messages and reports, using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
  • Participates in panel discussions, and debates. Speaks extemporaneously on a variety of subjects to employees within the company.
  • Monitoring physical facility for equipment failure, potential problems, outfall ground water, and environmental leaks within the unit.
  • Inspects equipment repair and tracks implementation of maintenance resolutions for equipment failure/problems.
  • Investigates safety concerns/incidents occurrences within the unit.
  • Participates in training of personnel of new/revised operational procedures.
