Transportation Safety Manager

We have a position available for a Transportation Safety Manager at GRANE Transportation Lines, Ltd., a pillar of trucking in Chicagoland since 1925. GRANE is a core value driven business that recognizes that their employees hard work and shared mission is what makes them successful.

As a Transportation Safety Manager, you will provide oversight of the company's Safety and DOT/OSHA Compliance. Must be detail oriented, have good communication skills, and be proficient in MS Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage system that tracks the Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing
• Provide oversight on the DOT Inspection and Citation Processing to insure strict compliance.
• Monitor Driver Qualification procedure including the components to ensure proper compliance from Federal, State company rules, regulations and policies to include: CDL, Physicals, MVR Reports, License suspensions agreements, and Hazmat training.
• Identify systems and processes within the company that are out of compliance and work with internal management to provide corrective actions.
• Work with medical facilities to ensure compliance to Federal mandated requirement.
• Provide support as needed for Injury, Workers Compensation, and Accident claims.
• Track OSHA, injury, and accident statistics and reports
• Track Driver Log exception processing, and on point-of-contact for compliance

Requirements:

Working knowledge of DOT regulations regarding Driver qualifications and requirements

• Able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skill
• Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Three or more years of experience with Microsoft Office

2 or more years experience working in Safety for a transportation company

• Valid CDL class A with Hazmat endorsement a PLUS

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
