Job Description

As a member of the Brooks Operations team, based in Chelmsford, MA, the Training Manager will work closely with Production Managers and Operations Leadership to develop and sustain a highly trained and flexible workforce, through cutting edge training solutions.

The Training Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs and systems to ensure the highest levels safety, quality and productivity in our workforce. In addition, they will be responsible for developing a training system that can clearly articulate depth of coverage and any business continuity risks associated with training and effectively mitigate those risks through appropriate cross training.

The Training Manager will collaborate and partner with Quality, EH&S, HR and other key stakeholders in developing an integrated and engaging learning experience (e.g. videos, computer-based training, trainee and trainer manuals, job aids, etc.) intended to expedite effective on-boarding and cross-training of team members and the contingent workforce.

The Training Manager will embody a sense of ownership and passion for training and drive improvements through creative solutions, while implementing the future state of training in our factory.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build on existing training programs to create a world class training environment, to ensure the workforce is performing at the highest levels of productivity.
  • Lead initiatives to support innovation and continuous improvement activities, including digital solutions to achieve learning objectives.
  • Improve compliance within training procedures, policies, and regulations; Monitor/report training compliance and effectiveness to management
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and measurement criteria to assess effectiveness of training program and monitor compliance metrics to enable accurate and timely reporting of key learning metrics.
  • Manage and track training requirements in support of manufacturing needs
  • Maintain updated curriculum and training records by optimizing functionality within our Learning Management System and in accordance with company-level process
  • Develop and apply cross training matrix to ensure business continuity in terms of labor

EXPERIENCE, CAPABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma or GED equivalent with appropriate experience and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Past experience with Continuous Improvement initiatives and/or leading training workshops a plus
  • Experience administering training, records, and reporting within a Learning Management System; proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in working in an ISO 9000 environment
  • Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality
  • Ability to understand and develop metrics to validate training performance
