This Position is located In Troy, OH.

Under the general direction of the Manager of Training and Technical Information, this role provides assistance and training to Hobart Service field technician employees. This role has extensive contact with US branch offices, Troy/Piqua personnel, ITW FEG Business Units and International Business Units. Within assigned areas of responsibility, this role conducts and develops training programs in maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and operating procedures as designed for Hobart Service personnel and self-services, evaluate performance of training participants and provide appropriate feedback and recommendations to local management for follow-up to enhance service effectiveness and skills development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruct Hobart company technicians and independent servicers in the proper servicing of Warewash (preferred area of expertise), Bakery, Food Machine or Cooking equipment products through lecture, audio-visual, online self-paced modules, hands-on student involvement and other delivery methods.
  • Provide necessary suggestions, structure and support to maintain an effective learning environment.
  • Evaluate performance of Service School attendees using established processes and provide appropriate feedback and recommendations to local management for follow-up to enhance service effectiveness and skill development.
  • Interact with Branch Managers / Independent Servicers, Service Advisors, Product Service, Product Engineering and other internal departments.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and technical training for end users (e.g. retail customer), as scheduled typically at customer site, and conduct training sessions in the field as required.
  • Provide input and assist in development and ongoing evaluation of designated training curricula and programs.
  • Prepare for service readiness for new product introduction and significant existing product changes as they relate to company training needs. Provide project progress reports.
  • Ensure all instruction and training operations demonstrate safe practices.
  • Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Make safety & health issues/concerns a priority and adhere to established regulations and guidelines. Participate as an active member of the Hobart Service Safety Committee.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Accredited High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of Commercial Food Equipment Service experience
  • 3-5 years of Servicing Food Equipment, Warewash equipment or related products
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint including but not limited to data extraction via advanced features in Excel, Presenter, and creating and converting Word documents into PDF format
  • Ability to use essential technology and software for instructional and communication purposes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; public speaking is a key skill.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in electronics / Mechanical training or related fields.
  • 2 – 4 years coursework development experience in a technical environment – Web based training, computer based training
  • 2 – 4 years technician training on Hobart, Vulcan, and Baxter cooking and bakery products
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking
  • Multimedia production and other technology-based training
  • Formal training or education in project management

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting 50-75 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Climbing up to 12 ft. with ladder.
  • Extensive walking 3-5 miles / day.
  • Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling.
  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet conditions.
  • Travel up to 20% including international
