Traffic Specialist - Chester, VA

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates traffic activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.

• Develops methods and procedures for transportation of commodities from departments to customers, warehouses, or other storage facilities.

• Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation.

• Initiates investigations into the causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.

• Freight billing, auditing, tracking and tracing of all inbounds freight.

• Setup trucks for inbound and outbound freight. Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
  

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
