Job Description
Epsilon Systems Partners is seeking a full time Tools and Parts Attendant in San Diego, CA.
Summary: Repair, maintain, and inventory government issued tools. Provide training on the use of tools to sailors and government employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads close tolerance instruments such as caliper/micrometer and torque wrenches.
- Supports two (2) Government service trucks with one (1) staffing requirement per vehicle.
- Maintains a Government generated form such as a Met bench Calibration Management Spreadsheet.
- Schedules tool truck for support of minor Fleet maintenance. (i.e. hose repair, corrosion control, small tool issue).
- Keeps an accurate inventory of tools checked out to the Fleet
- Provides proper usage of tools to ship’s force personnel to include tool preparation, safety features/devices, environmental safety measures, and proper operation.
- Checks out tools to ship’s force personnel on an on-loan basis.
- Maintains a detailed inventory of equipment checked out and a continuous chain of custody utilizing an excel format spreadsheet inventory form that is returned to Facilities Representative upon completion.
- Inspect tools upon return for damages or signs of degradation utilizing a checklist.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs or recommend replacement on all express tool service equipment (i.e. needle guns, electric drills, and impact wrenches) as necessary to the Facilities Manager for replacement approval and purchase.
- Supports ship’s force to identify and recommend procurement of new or improved tools and labor saving devices that will enhance productivity of ship’s force maintenance to the Facilities Manager.
- Ensures the Government vehicles (i.e. Tool Trucks) are secured by the Transportation shop by close of business daily.
- Issues daily tool inventory.
- Drives government vehicle
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in using and maintaining hand and power tools
- Ability to use hand and power tools, gauging devices, and test equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and repair standards
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
- Knowledge on the operation and upkeep of corrosion control equipment used aboard U.S. Navy ships and the environmental safety measures recommended with such tool use
- Possess and maintain a current and valid Class C Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess DOD clearance or CAC
ADA Notations:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Work in industrial environment
