TOOL ROOM SUPERVISOR

CLASSIFICATION (FLSA): NONEXEMPT

REPORTS TO: (Department Head / CFOI)


JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for all activities and functions of all Tool Rooms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES

  • Trains and evaluates Tool Room Attendants.
  • Ensures all tool and equipment inventory is up to date and current
  • Ensure all tool and equipment issue is conducted according to company policies
  • Coordinate all tool and equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Correctly order replacement tools, repair parts, equipment and consumables
  • Must evaluate subordinates using Southcoast Welding and Manufacturing Evaluation form
  • Responsible for the issue/inventory/maintenance/adjustments and security of all Company Timeclocks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Tool Room Supervisor must be able to meet and successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following physical demands are representative to the position.

The position is active and requires extensive standing, walking, sitting and bending. Along with such movements, employee is required to lift equipment of up to 75 pounds.

  • Able to lift, carry, and or push up to 50 – 75 lbs. throughout the shift (including overtime)

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient with Outlook / send correspondence using company email
  • Maintain files for all process’ set forth by company policies for Southcoast Welding and Manufacturing tool rooms
  • Able to evaluate the use of various resources and make knowledgeable decisions regarding safety and company standards and policies
  • Able to read and write English
  • Be proficient with internet searches to be able to order correct replacement and repair parts for company tools, equipment and vehicles

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for the Tool Room Attendants, Drivers and Bus Driver.

POSITION TYPE / HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Schedule is Monday- Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. / 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (swing shifts dependent on work load). Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Must be able to speak and understand Basic English
  • Must have a minimum 5 years managerial experience and/or qualified experience.
  • Must have 5 years driving experience with clean record

WORK AUTHORIZATION CLEARANCE

For E-verify and contract security purposes (including ship access lists), all employees MUST present a valid export document. Acceptable documents are U.S. Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Passport, Passport Card and Permanent Resident Card.
