Job Description
J.P. Morgan Commercial Banking (CB) is a market-leading provider of Wholesale Payments products to the Corporate Client Banking, Middle Market, Government, Healthcare, Not-for-Profit, Financial Institutions Group and Real Estate markets. The CB Product Delivery team is tasked with representing the needs of commercial banking clients, translating the product value propositions to the marketplace and driving adoption through marketing activities and the enablement of client-facing representatives.

Reporting to the Executive Director of e-commerce/Third Party Payment Processor (TP3) Product Delivery, the TP3 Product Innovator will play a key role in our efforts to rapidly identify, prototype and launch new and disruptive Commercial Banking payment solutions. While serving as a primary stakeholder for the Commercial Bank Innovation Lab team, you will leverage your deep knowledge of payment products to drive our strategic areas of focus and help validate early stage opportunities that can transform the banking industry. The individual will be responsible for driving product promotion, education and, ultimately, adoption via our sales channels for this high growth client segment. Key activities include product development strategy, industry trend and competitive analyses, commercialization, pricing, feature enhancement prioritization, and project tracking. This will all be done in close collaboration with colleagues across lines of business, product management, marketing, finance and CB client-facing teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding client needs, identifying trends, assessing market gaps and analyzing competitor dynamics to help steer the innovation lab book-of-work for the CB TP3 segment
  • Leveraging both innovation lab quantitative and qualitive research to assess the performance of prototype and proof-of-concept ideas
  • Refining and executing on the CB TP3 strategy to win deals and grow revenue
  • Partnering with client facing teams to define value proposition/product offering across pay-in and pay-out for our clients and their clients
  • Creating go-to-market content with our Ready to Launch partners to empower Sales ranging from training, marketing, process & procedures and proposal content
  • Documenting and owning client pain points and associated product requirements to represent CB client interests within the Wholesale Payments organization to advance product roadmaps
  • Collaborating with pricing teams to design segment-specific strategies that can deliver simplification and drive profitability
  • Prioritizing product input on CB investment process via input from marketplace research, clients, Product Solutions Specialists, TMOs, and Bankers to support this high growth segment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant Product Management or Consulting experience, preferably in the Merchant Services or eCommerce/Fintech domains
  • BA/BS degree and strong MS Office skills required
  • Good knowledge of traditional and emerging methods of payment (e.g., ACH, Wire, Disbursements, Real Time Payments and Card).
  • Ability to translate product vision into phased design requirements followed by execution of a go-to-market product launch.
  • Strategic thinker that combines strong analytical skills and creative problem solving
  • Proven track record collaborating across cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Service, Sales, Onboarding, Marketing and Finance
  • Sales enablement experience with bringing new product capabilities to market and supporting sales education
  • Proficiency in building business cases and ROI models that demonstrate client financial value propositions
  • Experience operating within the agile software development lifecycle, preferably at enterprise and early stage organizations
  • Demonstrated communication and diplomacy skills to work cross-organizationally to influence others, drive results/change and implement projects/processes on simultaneous projects
